Versagrid™ Ceramic Honeycomb
Applied Ceramics (ACI) provides excellent thermal properties and value with its Versagrid™ Ceramic Honeycomb. These substrates provide excellent opportunities for customers to meet and exceed their emissions standards while increasing reliability and profitability. Additional advantages are lower pressure drop and thermal shock resistance in application. These parts can also withstand operating temperatures up to 1400.
DESIGN SUPPORT
Depending on your company’s needs, Versagrid™ products can be designed specifically for your flow control, absorption, and catalytic applications. Applied Ceramics began manufacturing Versagrid™ ceramic honeycomb in 1980. Since then, ACI continues to offer our world-class engineering support to create more value for its customers and partners.
ACI’s experience demonstrates a commitment to product and design performance and understanding the application limits and safety factors. Our vast experience allows us to provide standard products while varying the Versagrid™ ceramic honeycomb to meet each customer’s need. Versagrid™ ceramic honeycomb is available in standard cell densities that range between 4 and 400 cells per square inch (CPSI).
While some industries and markets require standard configurations, we do make custom sizes and cell densities for some customer applications. We currently offer Versagrid™ ceramic honeycomb in a variety of materials such as Cordierite, Mullite, Alumina, Activated Carbon and Fused Silica. Other materials are available upon request. In addition to offering our existing materials, we routinely assist our customers with material development for their proprietary ceramic honeycomb applications.
Versagrid™ Product Offering
Industrial – These parts are typically used in Stationary Engines within Industrial processes or Power Generation to reduce VOC and NSCR emissions.
Mobile Catalytic Substrates – These parts are used in the small engine, light duty and heavy duty applications.
Custom – While many of our products are made to service existing markets and customers, some are developed because a solution does not exist.
Industrial Ceramic Honeycomb
Applied Ceramics produces many different round ceramic substrates annually. Standard shapes vary up to 12 inches in diameter and up to 400cpsi (cells per square inch). Standard lengths also vary up to 12” depending on the application. The current material formulation generates material properties that exceed industry standards and allow for superior performance while in service.
